How to Use Rectangular Marquee tool in Adobe Photoshop CC
After move tool now in the second tool if you right click you can see there are four tools and these tools are
- Rectangular Marquee Tool
- Elliptical Marquee Tool
- Single Row Marquee Tool
- Single Column Marquee Tool
So here we discuss rectangular marquee tool. This tool can use for selection. Select the tool and just draw a selection in your document. You can see a selection there and that is rectangle selection. During selection, if you press and hold shift you can see this tool will make a square selection with same width and height. In options of this tool on the left side, you can see four options and these options are
- New Selection
- Add to Selection
- Subtract from Selection
- Intersect with Selection
If you learn these four options so it will easy for you to use these options in next upcoming selection tools. The new selection can design a selection but after designing a rectangle or square if you try to design another selection you can see previous selection will disappear. If you activate add to selection option now after one selection when you try to make another selection you can see previous selection is also there. So this option will extend the selection. If you want to delete a part from the selection then use the third option which is subtract from selection. It will delete the part which you don’t want in your selection. Intersect with selection can select one part and other parts of selection will delete.
This tool can also be used to copy and paste from image to another tab or image. First open an image then draw a selection in your desired part of the image which you want to copy then go to edit option in the menu and then select copy, or simply press Ctrl + C on your keyboard this tool will copy that part. Now open another tab or images and then click on edit option in the menu again and click paste or simply press Ctrl + V on your keyboard this tool will paste that part of the selection.
